Alignment of IT Projects with Business Strategies

When making decisions about specific projects, departments should reflect and adhere to the following:
- Information Management Principles.
- Alignment with the Business Strategy.
- Linkages to the Information Systems Strategic Plan.
- Impact on other projects.
- Risk considerations.
- Departmental capability and business continuity.
Each of these gives more information to help decide whether the planned initiative is well thought out and clearly defined in terms of business needs and benefits.
