On 30 November 2007 a new code of conduct for the State Services - Standards of Integrity and Conduct - came into effect.

Public Service departments are part of New Zealand's State Services. Therefore the new code applies to all departments, and supersedes the Public Service Code of Conduct.

The Standards of Integrity and Conduct for the State Services are published online here, together with guidance for State servants on understanding the code, and for State Services organisations on implementing the code.
