The Capability Toolkit is a compendium of capability questions and information to promote and inform capability management and help State Services agencies improve their performance. It presents a set of questions to consider when thinking about the capability an agency or sector needs to achieve its outcomes now and in the future. The toolkit outlines good practice in capability management and provides indicators of high performance and early warning signs, organised under seven dimensions: leadership, people, culture, relationships, ICT and internal management systems; assets; and structures. Developed by the SSC, the Treasury and the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, the toolkit shares the three central agencies' current thinking on capability and provides a full picture of their capability-building initiatives. To print/download, use the PDF above.
